According to the US Dept of Justice, one in every 36 homes in the US will experience a burglary. 

28 percent of home invasions happen with at least one member of the household present, with  7 percent of total home invasions resulting in an individual being assaulted.

Additionally, according to the FBI, from 2019-2020 violent crime has gone up in Ohio by 5.3 percent, and 12.4 percent in West Virginia.

With rising inflation and fuel costs crime will continue to rise.

Its not as simple as going out and buying a firearm. Doing so without proper training results in a statistically higher likelihood of hurting yourself with that firearm than being able to defend yourself or your family.

At best 4 minutes, and at worst over an hour, depending on where you live. 

This is not something that you want to solely rely on, given that the average interaction time between a criminal and his victim is 90 seconds. That translates to you being robbed/injured/maimed/raped/murdered and waiting for an additional 2 and a half minutes for the police to arrive AT BEST. But most likely, in the Mid-Ohio Valley,  you are likely looking at the 10+ minute timeline.

Emergency medical service units average 7 minutes from the time of a 911 call to arrival on scene. That median time increases to more than 25 minutes in rural settings, with nearly 1 of 10 encounters waiting almost a half hour for the arrival of EMS personnel.
